What interests me about this is the grammatical shift from statement (Sonic Youth)to proposition (Jackson Webb), and the questions this raises about the extent to which our practice is speculative
(see chapter 'Professional Rules' in 'Have I Reasons' (Robert Morris) - for brilliant stuff on diversity of the ouevre, and 'Is there a kind of world, as it were, of the question, whose difference, verging on the suspicion of a kind of lack, sets it in perpetual opposition to that other world, that of the statement?')
